Its because there are a lot of models. Not like 30 models, each 2.5 mega bytes in size.

First of all I must say that the terrain looks awesome! I love the mountain-sea-whitemist theme ;)

And...
What about adding a Battle Arena? Here you could battle 1v1, 2v2 etc... And just asking, is there a maximum level? Because if we say you limit it to 100, many people would probably play this, and form "lvl100 clans" - and battle each other.

Keep up the good work!

I've never seen a map with the size 480x480.

I was going to use that size on my map then i got scared it could cause problems since its not a map size that blizzard put into the game.

Are you sure having such a size wont cause any problems later? I've never seen a map with that size

The only disadvantages are, that the mapsize in the wc3 menu is called "unknown" and that the map needs a truckload more of RAM.

@ others: Level cap will be 50. I think about an Arena, of course, but I won't balance the game around PvP, so don't blame me if your Crusader stands no chance against a Wizard or Archbishop.

I'd probably need to buckle up my computer in order to play a 480x480 map, and to be completely honest, I don't think the work one put in terrain on such a size is worth it, I mean one can really make a map that takes, lets say 24 hours to complete and yet 'only' use 256x256, it's not how much space there is, it's how you use the space. Also as far as I know, not many people tend to play much longer than a day at one map.

But the terrain looks good, custom models look good (although I think in the end they will have to be removed because of mapsize limits in multiplayer).

Also, it aggro system = threat system, keeping aggro that is, I might like this map more than any other RPG out there.

Hm, you forget that it's a rpg map. You can save/load your hero. This map is not meant to be level capped on one day.

And btw: Better safe than sorry. I can reduce the map size if I ever get problems with it.

True , you have to make it really fun to get people to play it , as most people wouldn't want to play a RPG on warcraft and rather get another game.

There are a lot of rpgs out there played often on the bnet. Like Twilight's eve or even the old Defi4nc3 RPG. However, I can't really understand why they are so popular. Twilight's Eve is by far the worst RPG I ever played. That's also the reason why I am making this map - all RPGs I played so far were disappointing.

Thats the spirit :D

- Remember to make it easy for players. Especially in the beginning. In some RPGs you enter a city with shops and stuffs all over the place, which makes it very difficult and confusing.

This is the main focus of the map. However, the fact that it will be easy to understand does not mean, that the map will have a low difficulty level.

I beg to differ. (wanted to say that. :D)

ToJ, one of thehelper's own owns! :) As do a few out there... and that's what most (O)RPG-makers say in the creation of their map.

But as said before, the terrain looks nice.

I have one problem: why would a Thief lead to a choice of a Bard? A bard is like a poet, musician, traveling song writer and singer.

Oh god. I had no idea why it was so popular when I played it either.
I hope this comes out well.
Though I think one of the reasons it is so popular is because it is also quite simple.

  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
