Internet Explorer 6 - refused access

Hey, I have a few questions concerning IE6 and some problems I'm having. I recently removed 21 'viri' and backdoors from the computer using both Norton and Housecall (housecall.trendmicro.com). I have also used Ad-Aware on the system (XP). I am still having problems though - I cannot access two pages: google or yahoo. I have redownloaded IE6 from the microsoft page, along with all the patches and updates. This has not fixed the problem though - any suggestions?

Look at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and lmhosts and see if they have a line for google or yahoo in them.
