My Elements

My friends keep life balanced and fair,
If I’m in need, they will be there,
They keep me going, they are my air.

My family I came from out of birth,
I hold on to them and look for them first,
They keep me stable, they are my earth.

My goals are there to feed my desire,
I look for them to lift and inspire,
They keep me smiling, they are my fire.

My stories are always there to entice,
Legend goes on, even after my life
They keep me from fading, they are my ice.​

Man I had to rush this poem. I forgot all about this contest and just as I thought, July 25th, my timezone is GMT + 8 but gmt5 will end this contest sooner, so here's my final entry, and I'm not that interested in the poem and it's lengthy, but others have their own tastes. Read on, fellow writer!

Elements of Destruction

Magic, the tool of awe and destruction,
A vast field of complexity, sewn together as one,
But the scissor makes its cut,
Separating magic into three powerful divisions,
New branches of individual sorcery and magic, the Elements.
Thus, the Lightning, Frost and the Flame, are born.

The sands of time are flowing,
As time goes on, the Elements shall get stronger,
Different organizations have been inagurated,
A new generation for magic-wielders of the three elements,
The future is bright and achievements are inevitable,

But there is something not to forget,
Jealousy and rivalry between the clans,
A time where magic unleashes its destructive potential,
Battles, Conlficts and War, all have done their assignments.
From each soul of a sorcerer, his magicks collide.

The battle may never be over,
They will never be warring clans and sorcerers again,
Humankind has finally made his own stand,
To shun the use of magic, and to let the elements do their work,
This time, the elements are against us,

Ice freezes the city like a fridge,
The ground becomes brittle like a fragile bridge,
Then fire makes its own chaos and destruction,
Burning inanimate objects and living flesh alike,
Lightning touches the sky and strikes the earth,
An amazing sight so see, and a terrifying enemy to contend with,

The cycle may as well continue,
but the element has made its own balance,
And there is no living happily ever after,
They go anywhere, and they will strike anytime,
Waiting in the shadows of their legends.​

... Who said the judging was going to be done in 2 days? Yesterday I had a party at the house and today we were relaxing after it.

It'll come. Just chill.

No worries Seth, I came back today from Colorado, St. Louis, Wyoming, N. S. Dakota, and a bunch of other states on a trip, I didn't expect anything, I hardly expect you to judge them at all in the following week, if you are judging alone, I just wanted to know who was going to win :D I hope you had a great time at the party.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
