Spell Idea (can this be triggered?)

I have an idea for a spell, but im not sure if its trigger-able. I think it is, but I just want to make sure. So I am making a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 arena. And if anyone has played that and has seen Blackheart's demon ability where he spits out a bunch of demons and they grab you for about 3 seconds, this is what im trying to make.

Numbers can still be changed.

So I made a picture so you can visualize it better.

Initial Projectile 150 damage 3 second stun.
First Split Projectile 150 damage 2 second stun. Potential 300 damage.
Second Split 100 damage 1.5 second stun. Potential 600 damage.
So the initial projectile shoots out at maybe 100 range? Something low so if you cast at them at melee or near melee range it will hit before it splits. After it splits it goes for another maybe 100 range, and then both then split into 3 projectiles.

Does this look possible to make so it splits cleanly?

Why not?

Easier with Jass.
If you want it GUI, Glenphir is your God.

Of course it's possible, but making it MUI will be a pain.

Unless you use Jass >.>
I actually half-considered making the spell, but I started and saw the huge globals block and immediately told myself, 'no'.

Another thing i forgot to mention. If the projectile hits a target, it stops the chain.

Example 1: If the initial projectile hits a target, it does not continue to split.

Example 2: If the initial projectile splits into two, and one of them hit, one stops, and the other continues to split the second time.

the spell is possible, as sinecosine said, if this spell need to be MUI, i think you better look for Glenphir, it is easy achieved with Non-MUI even in GUI.

you can use MUI to set their possitions by having simply the target unit the basic point the caster will be only the poss. from the first split will start .you just destroy the unit if it hits a target and deal damage or whatever

GUI would be prefer GUI because I don't know how to do JASS or how to implement it. MUI might be important? 1 Hero per game, no duplicant heroes. So I don't think it would be a problem actually for it to not be MUI.

So for the ability would it be something like this.
Blackheart starts the effect of an ability
Ability = Demon Hold

Create 1 dummy for triggering player at triggering unit.
Make unit move X range
Make the unit check if it touches any unit.
If it does touch, create dummy 2
Order dummy 2 to cast storm bolt at the touched unit

The part that stumps me is the how to make the parts split
