"death sound" dissapeared.

When I imported a custom model, and used it on a custom unit, it wont make any sound when killed.

I have tried several different sound sets, but to no help! :banghead:

Okay; I changed the model, and it played, not the sound of the sound set, but the sound from the model...
Are the death sounds built into the models? How can I change this?

Yes.

To change them you must open up the model and modify it there, but ofcourse you need permission.
