The world's first truly dual-screen laptop, which will allow computer users to multi-task while on the move, is due to go on sale by the end of the year.
The pioneering PC, known as the Spacebook, is the brainchild of Alaska-based technology firm gScreen.
While growing numbers of office workers – especially in the financial industries – use several desktop monitors to track many programmes and information sources at the same time, no manufacturer has yet released a portable equivalent.

The gScreen Spacebook will boast two 15.4 in screens which can slide away to fill the space of a single screen when the laptop is being stored or transported.
The first photos of the pioneering gadget have been obtained by Gizmodo, the US technology website.

Question: When you play games, will it just expand out to the sides, or will it have one monitor showign the games, and the other one displaying your work?

For the latter, if you brought this laptop to your office, you can not only play games while you're at work, but also you won't get caught by your boss.

Why not just make it one screen with a divider on it, instead of making it two power consuming monitors?

Completely and utterly pointless on a laptop. It's pretty much just a shitty desktop system, because with two screens theres going to be no battery life at all. You thought laptops died fast with with one screen? Try two...

I think the idea is portability, as in being able to take it around to different places, plug it in, and then use it. Being a college student, I find it very useful to have a laptop (with 3 hours battery life when idle), I can take everywhere. Since I'm in classrooms all the time, there's always a power outlet available.

It's so it can slide in and not take up the widescreen space when closed.

Laptops are also being used as portal desktops so lets say a businessman or a graphic designer is staying at a hotel, he can work there with a charger. Though of course in airplanes and such, it would be a disadvantage to have such battery consuming screens.

Im pretty sure no one would need to use both of them all the time

Do some 3D graphic design interlaced with game programming. Yes, you will need 2 monitors. I do, at least. That's why I have a desktop AND a laptop! However, I do know those who have dual screen with just a desktop.

I would defiantly use it. I have 2 monitors on my desktop. I mean, some people don't see the practicality, but once you've used 2 monitors , you will never go back. My mom always thought i was crazy, but one time she used my computer, and actually had use for both the monitors and she finally got why I have 2 :D. Hell my uncle has 3, maybe 4, i don't remember. But that is a truly innovative idea, i never would have thought of such thing. I just hope, that software developers will begin to make dual monitor support in their programs.

I have dual screen, but it's mostly so when I'm programming, I can have a guide or reference on the other screen while I code on the first one.

A guide/reference? Please explain further, I'm interested in it.
