Near contacts the Japanese task force and is determines that Kira is among their members. He ask for insider information and Aizawa beginning to doubt Light, gives ti to him. Near suspects that the new L is really Light Yagami and is that Light is Kira.

Lights finally cracking? Hes been losing it since about the time he had L killed off.

Also, LONG ago he passed the two notebooks in a little circle between him, Ryuk, and Rem. He said that there would come a time when that would benefit him, but he never pointed out when that time came. Was that just to eliminate evidence? Because he asked L in the helicopter if they should examine the notebook after he got his memories back.

Lights finally cracking? Hes been losing it since about the time he had L killed off.

Also, LONG ago he passed the two notebooks in a little circle between him, Ryuk, and Rem. He said that there would come a time when that would benefit him, but he never pointed out when that time came. Was that just to eliminate evidence? L once mentions (when light lost his memory of the death note) that the kira-light would have managed it so he would get back the power to kill people. But however after they tried to arrest Higuchi L took away the handcuffs from Light.
L also seems to trust Rem and the rules completly when they examin the death note and ask questions to Rem. Allthough he answers all questions with 'no' or 'I don't know'. But that doesn't attract Ls attention.
And after Ls death the guys around Light don't even start think about why the god killed L. Or the better question: Why did Rem kill L just at this moment? They were just discussing about how to confirm the 13-days rule. And what happens if the rule proves wrong? The alibi of L and Misa gets insecure.

I do find it kind of weird; now that you mention it. Yet, if you saw a god of death; of Course you would believe him/her and if a notebook had rules written by Death Gods, you would have to assume those to are true. That is unlike L, but maybe he was too freaked out about Rem and the death note to notice.

As well, I am upset, because in the anime L did not think his line, neither did Light.
L: Light Yagami, I was right... You are Kira.
Light: Too Late Ryuzaki, you lose, God (or Kira) has made his choice.
