I've been playing Battlefield 1942 for years and I haven't had any trouble with it until now. (Other than lag of course; then again, I DO play on a Dell) I joined a server yesterday and one minute after I started playing, it brought me back to the server list with the message "Disconnected from server". I thought nothing of it and tried another server, and another- the same thing occurred each time.
I know for a fact it's not a firewall issue, and everything was up-to-date. I uninstalled every mod, the game itself, and even deleted it from the registry and program files. I went to reinstall it, and I got the message "Missing file "WHCK.DLL" as it was installing. It allowed me to finish the installation, but I had the same issue when I went to try a server.
I reinstalled it a third time and got the same message, and the installation seemed screwy near the end. (Installshield Wizard was still open and frozen even though it had completed the installation)
Can anyone please help me?
