BF Vietnam lan game need help

Battlefield Vietnam lan game, please help

i own a copy of battlefield vietnam and my neighbour has a copy aswell we both have the same copy and a different key on both we disabled our firewalls and he was able to play over a local network game with his two computers but i was unable to join or detect the created game and im using the same internet and am connect to the same network through my wireless area network. my computer can ping both his computers in command promt and they can ping mine. any help would be greatly appreciated as i loved to verse him from my place. thanks again

the two computers on the lan do detect the created multiplayer game but only when the windows firewall is off, even though vietnam is in the exceptions list. is there a way to run the windows firewall and still play the lan game
