This is just too cool. Maybe we can have a lot of contests here.
It’s not everyday you see an RTS play out with the measured, slow-paced nature of a JRPG battle. Thanks to youtuber SkriK, now you can. Exophase.com uncovered the video that combines everything you love (or hate) about a turn-based Final Fantasy game with Starcraft II, forming the most obnoxious video game acronym ever: RTSJRPG, or JRPGRTS. And all he’s using is the game’s Galaxy Map Editor. Now we just need someone to mesh Halo with Radiant Silvergun to form a SHMUPFPS. Or not.
The project will feature all the familiar gameplay trappings of a Final Fantasy title, minus (thankfully!) the type of heavy-handed, melodramatic storyline that is par for the course for the storied franchise. Keep your eyes peeled and your browser open to his page to keep up with his progress, check out more videos, and eventually download the end result.
