Can you make it so you can build gates and make them work through abilities? I made one and gave the abilities "open" and "close" and then added two triggers to make the gate play "death alternate" and "stand" but it doesn't work.

I don't want to have to get to all the hassle of spawning in a doodad and such and I have seen this done in some maps so...any answers?

I doubt it. I think using gate is a specific doodad related thing. I'll have a go at doing though.
Please post your trigger up as they might be causing the problem.

Make a destructable variable.
Set the variable to your destructable, however your making it or w.e
The variable wil be gate1


A unit begins casting an ability
Ability equal to open
Open Gate1

A unit begins casting an ability
ability equal to close
Close gate1

I guess I could do it with an ifinately big variable.

So then I could do something like.

Building finished = create doodad gate
set variable gate[number of gates] = last created doodad
set variable number of gates to number of gates + 1

You think that'd work?
