Well I'm finally getting a Laptop..

I have some questions...and I want your opinions.

What do you think is the best laptop for me? Here are somethings that I have and do to help slim down the choices.
  1. I have a lot of music
  2. I have a lot of movies
  3. It must be Fast and reliable
  4. I want to play games on it
  5. I don't care if it is XP or Vista (But Vista is preferred)
  6. It is able to burn dvds as well as playing cd's/dvd's
  7. It must be a PC. I don't like MAC's (No offense)

I already have a list of a couple of lap tops.
There all HP. Basically everything I want is available through the HP brand.

Oh and price below $1000.00 or a little above it like $1300.00
(I live in New York so the money will be US Dollars)

Thank you for all your opinions that you leave ( I hope)

Mine cost me 800, holds my 100+ CD album, I don't burn my movies so I don't know about that, is fast and reliable, I play games on it, has Vista [again, unsure about the burning of DVDs] and is most certainly a PC :)

Macs can be totally ruled out because they have very few games available. Also, don't go for huge brand name laptops like alienware. Those just rip you off for the brand (kind of like iPods).

For the hard drive, I recommend something w/ either a huge HDD, or get a separate, external one. For the RAM, 1.5-4 gigs should be perfect. For the processor, go with an Intel Core 2 Duo. For the video card, for the video card, I recommend the nVidia GeForce 9600 GT. It comes at a very good price.

Of course, you will need a good cooling system and a reliable motherboard as well as a good power supplier, but those come relatively cheap if you know where to look.

@w/e - The 9600 would not be available on a laptop, and if so it would most likely be out of the $1,000 price range.

iBUYPOWER CRZ-93G NoteBook

Features:
Display - 15.4" Widescreen
Operating System - Windows Vista Home Premium
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4Ghz
Memory - 2GB DDR2 (667)
Disk Space - 160GB 5400rpm
Optical - Dual Layer DVD burner (the 8gb DVDs)
Video - GeForce 8600Mobile GT [Dedicated]
Weight - 6.29lbs
$1,099.99

This should be more than sufficient for any of your tasks, including gaming as far as mobile gaming is concerned. Keep in mind that having strong graphics and processor capabilities also means lower battery life.
