Good way of notifying the player that something happened?

Ok I need a good way of notifying the player that an event happend (MUST WORK WITH GetLocalPlayer(). I DO NOT want a normal text or SOUND. Something other than that is a must.

An example would be good:
Say if player a types "LOL OMG" then something triggers and you get an output saying "LOL OMG KOO". I just want it to look more professional and NOT use a sound because it fails for people who turned off their Wc3 sound (90% of the people playing).

If you show code I will appreciate it alot!

What happened? If you don't want it to be text, or sound. Use pings? Cinematic pings? Still, I think a little text is helpful. It really depends on what kind of things are going to happen on your map.

Edit: So you want to notify people when another person says something?

No, I want to notify the player that an event happened. And text is just suckish. I also said that it must be GetLocalPler compatable so "people" is just a NONO unless it doesn't desync.

What I meant by people is players. And if you don't want text OR sound, I can't think of anything other than pinging the minimap. Well unless the events that happen can be represented by units or doodads etc.

Which wouldn't work because it would cause desyncs.

You could use a fade filter or an ubersplat. That might work.
