Tutorial Guide To Making/Editing Spells

This is a guide for begginer map makers that will tell you all about spells and how you can change them to your desire. To start press F6 to open the object editor. Click on the abilities tab. Now open Human Hero Spells and select storm bolt.

Art - Missile Art

This controls what is being thrown for storm bolt it is a hammer.
You can change this to whatever you want.

Art - Icon Normal

This is what the spell icon is.

Art - Animation Names

This is what the caster will be doing while casting the spell. Some names are Channel, Stand, Throw, Slam, Looping, Chain.

Targets Allowed:

Who this spell can be casted on.

Data - Damage

The damage of the spell.

Text - Tooltip - Normal - Extended

It's what it says when you hover the mouse over the spell.

Text - Tooltip - Normal

It's the title you see when you hover the mouse over the spell.

Stats - Mana Cost

How much mana the spell costs.

Stats - Race

The race this goes under in the editor.

Art - Missile Speed

How fast the Art - Missile Art goes.

Now you know how to make Blizzard spells original. Hope this helped.

Meh, I voted "Not Very" because I already knew about this stuff. However, don't get disheartened; it's very efficient for newbies who want to learn stuff, and it helps with all of those less-than-polished maps out there.

Im gana rate it ok because i know all this stuff and some of it is to simple for noobs... But I guess if mabye the person was starting the day they read this it could mabye be helpful. But good guide for noobs..

But this field just explains basics of one spell... For example, where's the stun duration? If you want this tutorial successfull, I'd offer you to explain more fields (every field has a meaning, doesn't it?) and mopre spells, as different spells might have different fields.

When I read a tutorial, I should be able to answer these questions, for example:

1. How do I set the stun duration of Storm Bolt
2. What is a "Level Skip Requirement" and "Required Level"?
3. How do I make my Flamestrike spell do 13 damage per second for 12 seconds and then 7 damage per second for 8 seconds?
4.How does the "Fragmentation Shards" work?
5.On spell "Defend", what does "Movement speed Factor" and "Deflect Damage Taken" Mean?
6.How do I set up Shadow Strike?


Get over more abilities, explain more fields, and then this tutorial might become more worthy
