Lessening Arrow Keys Delay?

In my map, BladeMastaz, I have an arrow-key movement system as some of you may know.

I would like to know if it is possible to somehow supress or lessen the delay of the arrow keys when playing on BNet.

I know this is a very common problem and am very eager to solve it.

The average delay time of the keys online is from 2 - 4 seconds. In my maps case, this is something VERY noticable and is almost near to impossible to attack others :banghead:.

Has anybody got solutions / ways for me to do so?

Thanks alot for any help!

Hmmm,

Ok, I have thought of something along the lines of this. Player 1 is given a choice between arrow movement and mouse movement in the beginning of the game.

SO, when playing on BNet, you could use the mouse to move and slide to reduce delay...

How could I do this? Haven't come up with anything yet...

How about using channel abilities to make the movement with WASD?

Channel spells have no lagg when using them.

Sounds like it could work.

I will try it out tomorrow. Thanks for that! +rep.

Other: Does anybody know an equation for working out item slots as follows:
Player 1: Slot 1-6 (Slot 1 = 1)
Player 2: Slot 7-12 (Slot 1 = 7)
Player 3: Slots 13-18 (Slot 1 = 13)
etc...

This will be for a backpack system...

EDIT: Oh btw, its using a For Each Integer (A) from 1 to 6 loop!
EDIT#2: One problem with WASD, it cannot be held down, can it. Like arrow keys press and release.

You mean something like:

From (((PlayerNumber-1)*6) +1)
to (PlayerNumber*6)

For your EDIT 2: You are right. The main problem of channel spells for other purposes (such as movement) is that they cannot be held down. But you may be able to find a way around it... :p

@darkRae

Thank you!

Will it be possible to make the "WASD" to be pushed and released like the arrow keys?

EDIT:
> may be able to find a way around it
