Odd Computer Issue

Hey,
For some reason it seems that whenever I leave my computer on for approximately 10-15 minutes, the mouse and everything else suddenly begin to lag even if nothing is open. I do have a dsl connection that's usually active and have suspected that there might be some hacking going on but this happens every time and I don't know anything about hacking so I could be completely wrong. Any guesses or maybe I need to check something out?
Thanks.

Search for "HijackThis" on google, download it, run it, post the log file here and we'll see if we can figure out what is causing the problem. The current release is about 1.99.2 when you find the software.

Hey,
Here's the log. The numbers or serial codes or whatever is included in the log file, I just messed them up a bit for lack of knowing if I should necessarily post that part of the info but here's everything else. As far as I can tell, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary but then again, what do I know

Thanks for the info but I'm a bit hesitant about deleting system files especially when I don't know what some of them do. Can you maybe tell me what these files are or what is wrong with them.
Thanks.

When you fix the items, the files aren't being deleted, but simply being removed from the things that are run on your computer. The files are always there and the program make a backup automatically so that you can restore any one of them if problems arise. As for what they do:

The first is just a browser setting used by some spyware so that it can hijack your session and direct you to it's own pages by watching what sites you go to and directing you to sites that pay them instead.
The second is related to the program Kontiki, but is removed so as to rule it out as the cause of the problem.
The third is just cleanup since the file is already gone. You'll just be removing the reference to it.
The fourth, fifth, and sixth are all spyware from Verizon (I'll guess they are your internet service provider).
The seventh is Microsoft Office Document Search, which is rather useless since it duplicates the functionality of the Files and Folders search built into Windows.
The remaining entries are more cleanup of files that no longer exist on your system, hence the "file missing" tag on each one.

Well, I deleted the files. It apparently had no effect :( . I have recently been having issues with my IDE controller and I might need to update it. Might that have any effect or could it be the cause?

I have similar problem also

Hello Logical_1

I just found HijackThis, v1.99.1 several days ago. Tonight I did a search with this input, ZIBho Class, and landed here. :>> Thankfully.

Can you help me also? I have two problems I think.
1-My browser switches to a previous search that I did with Google. For and ipod.
2- I cannot do a system restore now. When I tried doing that, to solve this above problem, I noticed it will not restore.

Thanks
Jim

i had the same problem w/ my old computer.....(a primitive one)

what the problem w/ that one was is i had a ton of spyware/adware

download Ad-Aware SE (search for it at www.download.com ) also....make sure your free of virus (download AVG Anti Virus (do a search on google) and also download Microsoft Anti-Spyware (micrsoft site) and also...make sure windows is up to date and then make sure you have a firewall (either the Windows XP firewall or Zone Alarm...both are good)

thats all that i did to fix mine..may seem like a lot...but it'll help in the long run
