Static Struck​

Hello, I would like to introduce you the Static Struck! This spell just went throught my mind. This will help some of people who don't know much about triggering enchanced spell.

Steps to apply to your map :

1. Download the map
2. Copy the "Dummy" in the Units
3. Copy the all the spells in the Spells
5. Copy the Lightning Struck Trigger.
6. Paste all to your map.
7. Customize the % in the Lightning Struck.
8. Customize the damage in Zap Spell.

Code :

• Lightning Struck
  • Events
    • Unit - A unit Is attacked
  • Conditions
    • (Level of Static Struck for (Attacked unit)) Equal to 0
    • ((Attacking unit) is A Hero) Equal to True
    • (Random integer number between 1 and 100) Less than or equal to 80
  • Actions
    • Unit - Create 1 Dummy for (Owner of (Attacking unit)) at (Position of (Attacking unit)) facing Default building facing degrees
    • Unit - Add a 1.50 second Generic expiration timer to (Last created unit)
    • Unit - Add Zap (Random Zapping) to (Last created unit)
    • Unit - Order (Last created unit) to Orc Far Seer - Chain Lightning (Attacked unit)

This is a simple passive spell that gives a chance to struck the enemy with lightning.

Static Struck

Level 1 - Gives an 80% chance to zap the targeted unit and deal 30 damage.

Level 2 - Gives an 80% chance to zap the targeted unit and deal 40 damage.

Level 3 - Gives an 80% chance to zap the targeted unit and deal 50 damage.

If it's in JASS, simply copy and paste it in [NOPARSE]

[/NOPARSE] tags.
If it's in GUI, right click the trigger name (above 'Events'), and select 'Copy as Text'.
Then paste that inbetween [NOPARSE]

[/NOPARSE] tags.

A screenshot would also be nice.

You can learn it by reading tutorials. Try to hunt them in tutorials section.

Edit : Well, yeah it's simple because I would like to help some who don't know how to trigger spells with dummy.
Tutorial is better than posting the spell and add the spell as example for the tutorial.

You don't like the spell, right?
No. I love cool spells, because I have no creativity to do spells even I am able to code them.
Since your main aim is to teach beginners about the dummy, a tutorial is always better.
Even you are not writing tutorial, you should add comments on the code.
For the dummy part, creating dummy every time is not a good way to do it.
You should use 1 dummy with 0.000 animation/casting/backswing time for whole map.

oh, btw there is a possibility to make such a spell via orb of lightning (only if you are not afraid of using orbs ^^). just for the record.
