Sorry, what? I can't even tell what they're [del]singing[/del] screaming.

I prefer to be able to know the lyrics without looking them up.

Anywho:

Sorry, what? I can't even tell what they're [del]singing[/del] screaming.

Most lyrics are either humourous, have a deeper meaning or don't have any meaning whatsoever.

However, IMO, screaming/growling/gutterals/w.e turn the vocals into an instrument rather than into a subject - Kind of hard to explain; think of it this way: instead of underlining the vocals ( like in Pop or Hiphop for ex. ) it takes the role of contributing to the essence of the music and accenting it, making it somewhat more emotional.
I've always thought of Metal as a kind of freedom - as long as you put your heart into it, it's good. You might now want to tell me, that other Genré do that very thing, too. However, topic-wise, most people tend to build up their topics around the same thing over and over again ( Pop for example revolves mostly about love and TBH there is little variety to that ( Heartbroke, Cheating, First Love... you get my point )).

If I really want to know what a band in particular is talking about, I look it up, because I know I won't understand the meaning of it until I look it up.

Anyways, that aside, I've found this really awesome band called Decrepit Birth.
They're technical, however, they have a very unique interpretation of 'melodic'. It's very interesting to listen to and if you don't the odd time signatures, I bet you'll love the soli =)

I think either Rosenrot or Frühling in Paris give a better demonstration than Du Hast. The lyrics flow brilliantly in both those songs.

I'd post a video, but I'm not listening to either of those right now.

exactly i was listening to du hast at the time so that was the song i posted, i ment just ment them in general.

anyway listening now

Also, Combat is a pretty awesome song Hate :D Not what I'd typically listen to (I think I've said this before but... as much as I like properly-done growls and screams, I do like some element of clarity), but definitely not one of the songs I'd say "meh" to, and switch from after a minute :p

EDIT: Hmmm... Zombie Slam also deserves a mention :)

Swedish epitome of cool right there :p

Pop Metal, yay :3
I like it, that they got guest musicians play in PAIN =P
But other than that, I'm a big fan of Bloodbath and I do appriciate his vocals more in that band than in this one =/ I think he also played in Hypocrisy for a while...

time for some F***ING Christmas Songs!

Er... I think that Peter still performs with Hypocrisy (although, I can't say I'm up to date with everything he or his musical projects get up to :p) - either way, he does awesome instrumental and vocal work for Hypocrisy and PAIN (just gotta love the fact that most, if not all, of the studio work for PAIN is done solo :p)

Gotta love -core every once in a while =P
Emmure isn't exactly technical. I do love their use of vocals and metric overall =P However, I don't think this is something you'd listen to over and over again, because it loses tension very quickly.

Fast foward to 2:27 for the awesomeness =)

This Is War is my favorite album from them I think.
And one of my favorite songs from them. It's really soft mostly, but it's nice to listen to.

just beat it

I always get the feeling of being omniscient and the ability to understand the truth behind everything ( in a philosophical way, you see ) when I listen to In Flame's old stuff.

To those who don't know this Band; In Flames is more than just a musical expirience, it's definately worth listening to more than just one song =)

@ Hatebreeder:
Agreed. In Flames are awesome.

This thread [del]lacks[/del] needs moar! Sabaton...
[YOUTUBE]epeQwq-aYV0[/YOUTUBE]
And, way up there on my list of favourite tracks by Sabaton (not that [del]Coat of Arms[/del] 40-1 isn't on that list :p)
[YOUTUBE]y5V6sxZ8-eg[/YOUTUBE]

Far too many great tracks to choose from - why can't I listen to them all at once and still make out their individual awesome characteristics :( They're fairly damn good at putting the power in power metal :D

EDIT: What's this? I already posted Coat of Arms before... alternate track then!

A probate is usually done with a will, yes? If so I am sorry for your loss

Yeah Tom, me too sorry for your loss buddy my mom told me she finds out her olds friend died from Google searching them. She had not talked to one of her old friends in a year and found out she died from Google. Also another one in the same session. RIP all of them my sincere condolences Tom

We have some elderly guests that regularly come hang out at the bar at the end of the night, and every once in a while we don't see someone for a few weeks and then someone shows up with their obituary.
  • Varine Varine:
We usually let them do their memorials there in the morning if they want to and I'll make them some snacks and drinks. There was one guy named Tom that came in like every night and would sit by himself and get a bunch of soup and a glass of wine. idk why but he LOVED our fucking soup, like he would order a fucking quart of it at a time and would always get so sad when we stop doing it for the summer.

  • Varine Varine:
But he also loved our calamari, which is another thing I hate but it sells super well so I can't change it. There was one day he came in and was asking me how to make it, because he tried to at home once in the off season when we stop running it and he really wanted it lol
  • Varine Varine:
I think he's one of the only people I've made recipes for for free because he really wanted a broccoli cheddar, and it was like dude I don't have a recipe, it's just whatever I have, but here, this is how you do it
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think he ever figured out how to do the calamari in a pan though, like idk how to do that either. He was afraid of the at home deep fryers though and it's like yeah, that's fair, I am too
  • Varine Varine:
He was just such a sweet old man, we had two servers pregnant and they held a baby shower together, he was soooooo fucking excited to get to see a baby. Unfortunately he died a month or so before they were born
  • The Helper The Helper:
So I decided to Google some people that I had not seen or heard from in a while and sure enough one of my old best friends, we had a falling out years ago but whatever, find out he died of Pancreatic Cancer in January. I have also lost a few of my closer acquaintances from growing up the last year. Getting old - people die - I kinda thought it was going to be this way a few years ago....

    Forum running super slow again
  • Ghan Ghan:
Not really clear from the stats as to what is causing the slowness.
  • Ghan Ghan:
We get a lot of guest traffic so it may just be the load is getting too high and not from any particular source.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Looks like the server is maxed out on CPU.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Oh it looks like a lot of the traffic is Silkroad Forums. That domain isn't protected by Cloudflare.
  • Ghan Ghan:
But the old Silkroad site is still on its own server. I just had a test site set up on this server for it.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I just disabled that test site. Let's see if that helps the load.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Looks much better already.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I had actually forgot about the Silkroad site. I had asked
  • The Helper The Helper:
SD Ryoko about it and he said the couple of people left on there really like it, that was a few years ago, maybe I should check back
  • jonas jonas:
I guess when you're getting old, and the last day of soup season draws near, you start wondering
  • jonas jonas:
will I make it to the start of the next season? or was this the last time I'll ever have my favorite dish?
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am doing my first Vibe Coding project. In installed the environment and tools according to instructions but it is all chat doing this for me at my direction. It is fun really and holy shit I might finish in 2 hours what it would have taken a day to in my Access and this would be an electron app complete new
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Good stuff.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Just make sure it is secure. :)
