It's not just British, dude. Americans as well as other European countries (I'm sure) laugh at France's history to surrender

well in the first world war they didnt really surrender and in the second they hadnt had much of a chance, it think france is just the scapegoat for all kinds of restrained racism in europe because, come on, they are the french, do we need to tell any more then that?

The ironic thing is, recently we had to make a deal which means we now have to share our Aircraft Carriers and much of our other military technology with the French
And all we'll get in return is an indestructable White Flag factory

If this escalates to all out war, then I think it is likely the USA will step in to support SK. I doubt China will openly support NK but clandestine support would probably be highly likely; training, weapons, etc., in a manner similiar to the USA's support of the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan in the 1980's. I would also not be suprised if NK used nuclear weapons against the South, as they have tested such devices as recently as four years ago and it is widely believed that they have around 6-8 viable weapons at the moment.

I also think though that this may have just been more sabre-rattling. Kim-Jong Il's heir was chosen a few months ago and he was made a General. It might have been a demonstration of his own will, as there were some reports that he planned the attack himself, and the North knows it can get away with minor attacks every now and then.

Well No, because most of the countries in that area aren't going to risk helping North Korea which has no political or economical benefits for them, whereas South Korea does. In the past decades North Korea screwed over and pissed off their only allies they had left. The Russian Federation are not the Soviets they were in the first incidents of the Korean War (The War never ended so this is just Part 2 or 3) neither are the People's Republic of China for they are not the same people today as well.
