Report New research shows the earlier you start dating, the more messed up your life can be

Ah, young love.

Tweens are practically bursting with feelings of possibility and new-found joy when they discover that "special someone." Then again, when you're fresh out of puberty, love is awkward and can be heartbreaking.

New research from the University of Georgia (UG) paints a grim picture of middle school daters—they are four times more likely to drop out of school, twice as likely to drink and smoke marijuana, and tend have worse teacher-reported study habits.

After all, Juliet was only 13 when she started dating Romeo, and we all know how that turned out.

I wouldnt say a life with "drink and smoke marijuana" is messed up; thats pretty normal.
And "have worse teacher-reported study habits" isnt a big deal either. School sucks.

I would like for some opinions from teens with early dates. How is life? How are your school days? Etc.

I had my first girlfriend when I was 12; lasted about 6months. We were happy. Life's pretty good overall. Nothing much.

I can now rest my case.

6th: 11-12 years old.
7th: 12-13 years old.
8th: 13-14 years old.
But I'm not sure if that's a standard across the nation. I know that they used to have 6th grade in a lot of elementary schools and only 7th and 8th in 'junior high', but I dunno if that's a thing anymore or not.

I think i was 16 when i was with my first girlfriend.

Sure dating can come later. .. But Is the “dating” really to blame?

I have never drank Marijuana.

I had a hot but bitchy GF when I was 15. I'm pretty good in school/university. I honestly don't see a connection between school and love life. If you suck at school and blame it on yourself or other people for getting hurt, you're pretty much a whiny bitch. And no one likes whiny bitches.
