The StarCraft II tournament format adheres to a standard setup. All sixteen players have been seeded into a double-elimination bracket, to compete in a series of best-of-three matches. The first player to win two games will take a series. If a player loses a match, they’re not out yet, they instead move to the consolation bracket, where they could potentially come back to win the entire tournament. If a player loses two matches they are out of the running for the finals. The map pool and prizes for the StarCraft II portion of the Global Battle.net Invitational is as follows:

First place - $50,000
Second place - $25,000
Third place - $10,000

Two rotating teams of shoutcasters will bring you all of the action; Dan "Artosis" Stemkoski will be paired up with his hetero nerd life partner Nick "Tasteless" Plott, and Sean "Day[9]" Plott will dual-cast with JP McDaniel.

For the first time ever, GOMtv will be holding the finals of a GSL tournament outside of Korea at BlizzCon 2011. StarCraft II terran prince MMA will be vying against terran juggernaut Mvp in a war to determine the rightful wearer of the GSL October winner’s crown. The action will be coming to you live on the StarCraft II Tournament Stage in Hall C at BlizzCon 2011. These GSL finals will also be shown on the big screen on the Main Stage at 9:00 p.m., so if you stick around to watch the Friday night contests, be sure to stay seated, as following the end of the contests the entire event will be broadcast to the main stage screen.

Personally i was going to say Nestea v MVP finals with Nestea taking Blizzcon and MVP taking GSL, $50k each, but then i realized the map pool and figured itd be MVP taking $100k

Nonetheless im excited to watch this, should make for some nice games.
