Can't use variable in certain event

In the event Unit enters a distance from Unit it won't let me use a variable unit for the second unit. Any way to allow this?

Also, is there a way to keep text tags locked on the unit when it moves? I can attach it but it doesn't stick to the unit when it moves away.

Some bug probably. You should be able to use custom script.
Instead of selecting the Variable tab you go to Custom Script and enter the name of the variable.

The custom script name is a little different, but you can easily find it:
1) Click on your variable in the left-hand list.
2) Check the name in the "Script Identifier" part.
3) Add a "gv_" in front of that.

So if the Script Identifyer is "someVariable" then you enter "gv_someVariable" (without the "") in the custom script part of your event.

Note that if the variable doesn't contain a unit as the default value the event doesn't work. That's just like other Events and doesn't have anything to do with using custom script or not.
