A CREEPY clown who terrified and bewitched people worldwide, and prompted police to issue a warning about him, has finally been unmasked.
The clown, who first appeared in the English town of Northampton on Friday, September 13 - drawing comparisons to horror writer Stephen King's character Pennywise (played by Tim Curry) from the TV miniseries It - attracted headlines worldwide and gained almost 185,000 likes on Facebook.
The clown was unmasked by the Sunday People newspaper as student film maker Alex Powell - a 22-year-old who had previously denied that he was the mystery man to his local newspaper, the Northampton Herald & Post."There's been lots of rumours that I'm the 'Northampton Clown' but I am NOT! But thanks for the interest as its shot my views right up ... And I don't live in Northampton anymore," Powell said on his Facebook account - subsequently deleted.
