Custom Icon Help

Hey guys,

I've imported some icons for my custom abilities, but there is a slight problem. When I learn the ability, the icon is there (see attached image "Icons1"). When I go to use the ability, the icon is there. But when I go to learn a new spell, the icons disappear (see attached image "Icons2").

The icon paths are correct in accordance with a tutorial I used from this website. I've set "Art - Icon - Normal" and "Art - Icon - Research" to the same icon paths to the icon I want for that ability.

Any ideas what's going on?

That's a contradiction. When exactly are the icons there and not there?

If you're not using any triggers and these are just normal spells that
can be learnt by a hero then there shouldn't be any problems unless something is
wrong with the icon itself. Make sure you add the disButton aswell.

Also show us what tutorial you used, there could always be a mistake with it.

In the Icon fields, make sure the one titled Icon - Research is filled.

EDIT: Sorry, misread, yes you're missing a disabled icon. Make sure its path is ReplaceableTextures/CommandButtonsDisabled/DISBTN_Whatever.blp

I don't have the disabled icon. But when I get it, do i just import it, put in the correct path and leave it there? Or do I have do go to a specific field in the ability and put the path of the disabled icon there?

you'll get two part of custom icon when you download it.
Normal icon and disable icon, if the icon become green like that, thats because you miss something.

don't blame your self if you miss one of that part, sometimes the icon creator forgot to creat one of those OR the creator has a wrong format of his icon.

i'm not an expert on icon editor, but thats what i know.

Thanks guys. I got my icons working, though I'm using different icons from the ones seen in the attachments because they didn't come with a disabled icon.

Try Hiveworkshop - Icons. They have an excellent stock of icons and
I'm pretty sure they're required to have a DisBTN, so you won't
have that problem again.
