Hard Drive Issues (WEIRD ONES)

Okay, so this is unlike something i've seen before, my hard starts spinning INSANELY fast, as if in, at its max capacity like 5k+ rpm, and it feels as if it's going to blow apart, so i turned it off, and when i restarted it, it started right away on bootup this time, (the first time it started when i logged in). After turning it off a second time the hard drive didn't spin on the next boot up which came minutes later. Can someone please tell me why this is happening!!!! I have noticed an increase of Trojan viruses being detected of late though on my Kaspersky but since each one was "denied" i have thought nothing of this. Thanks!

Are you sure it isn't the optical drive in your computer that is spinning up?

(It could also be a cooling fan with a bad bearing.)
