Heather road her bike down the hills of Wisconsin. Her body leaned for each narrow turn, and she sped faster and faster as she descended down the rocky pathways of the forested terrain. High growing ferns scratched her bare arms as she brushed past them. A large smirk slowly appeared on her face, and all traces of outward sanity disappeared in that smile. Blood rushed to her sweat drenched face. She winced in pain. A mental image flashed through her mind. Two angry parents shouted at her. They caught her alone with Mike last night; however, Mike was only coming over to pick up his CDs. Their response pushed her to ride into the woods, just outside her house. It was a large lot owned by the city of ---, and she kept pushing onward.

A sudden root in the road caught her tire. Her face stayed focused on the path as her bike fell underneath. There was a violent crash as gears and flesh mashed into sandy dirt and jagged rock. She continued to stumble, leaving her bike behind. Her body finally dropped upon a fawn who had journeyed too far from its mom. Heather didn’t feel the creature underneath her, yet her eyes did spot the bewildered parents who had not smelled the stinky human. Heather didn’t move. Her head began to recall all the stories about little girls ridding into the woods and never returning again. “Am I going to be just like those girls too?” She wondered as the two stiff beasts watched her with curious eyes. They seemed passive, but Heather refused to believe such an illusion.

Her crippled arm stretched out into the opposite direction of the beasts. She slowly dragged herself toward the center of the path, and as she did so, the ground under her sprang up in a mad dash into the woods. The two parents pursued afterward, gruntingly. Heather watched breathlessly. Pain was aching throughout her entire body, and with each beat of her heart, she felt like crying. During the first hour, she began to sob in self pity. Her legs were evidently broken for she couldn’t move either, yet she couldn’t move her body to examine the broken limbs. She assumed it looked ugly. The left side of her body was somewhat flexible, yet she was sure that she had broken several bones in her arms and rib cage.

As he tears dried up over time, she thought about the fawn. She wondered if the parents would catch the poor child before it ran into danger itself. Heather felt guilty for causing so much grief to the animal. In her agony, she felt like an animal herself.

Once sunset approached, she began to talk to God. Her prayers were beautifully sincere. She asked God to have pity on her. She used analogies to compare herself to the fawn, yet as she grew dehydrated, she cursed herself. As her hopes diminished with the time, she asked for a quick death. With that final wish, she fell into a deep slumber. Then the woods grew silent and dark. In the far distance, a man ran down the pathways. His wife had scolded him for going into the forest, yet he did so anyways. He had the notion that his daughter was in trouble and wouldn’t let his wife intrude on his quest to rescue her. “Heather!” He cried desperately. “Heather!”

Heather dreamt of the fawn. It ran frantically into the woods panting with each step. Suddenly, it stumbled, and a pack of wolves devoured the helpless fawn. Its parents watched in pure shock and terror as the wolves destroyed the poor creature. Then they turned upon the parents. Their eyes beat red. They pounce upon the parents in a vicious maneuver. A sudden, loud whispered bellowed in Heather’s ears, “The devil got you! The devil got you!”

Heather’s eyes opened. Standing by her side, a tall man and a slim woman glanced over her. They had a worried expression upon their faces. One noticed that the daughter had awoken, and he lightly touched the girl’s hand. She looked up at her father and smiled.

Hmmm... I think after reading it again, it's cleared up.
I just misinterpreted some things (with the beasts), but I got it now, lulz.
