The recently held 2012 Toyko Marathon has been attracting attention for the profusion of cosplay runners, not least amongst them a rather convincing depiction of the Messiah, running barefoot in a loincloth and carrying an effigy of the True Cross on his back…

The unfortunate practicalities of having to run a long marathon in chilly February seem to restrict the cosplay possibilities of the event, although evidently not its variety:

Thats pretty ballzy to run around like that. I bet he was freezing, but on the other hand, we was running constantly, maybe it wasnt that cold for him.
But i guess the cross was not made of wood, would be way too heavy to carry around in a marathon.
