Alright, I want to develop applications for Macintosh, but I have a few problems. Like, how do I compile a C++ text file (.cpp) so that it can be used on any Mac, regardless of if they have G++ installed?

I believe Macs comes with an Objective-C compiler.

But I'm asking how do I compile it so that it can be used on other macs? Using the basic G++ doesn't work.

"g++ -o myprogram my.cpp"?

Try an IDE. Those almost always make compiling easier.

So if I want to make programs usable by default, I have to code in Objective-C?

Bummer. Oh well, time to learn another language...

You could always try an IDE. They make the whole compiling process easier.
Unless it's Objective-C you don't like.

In that case, I'd recommend Python or Java.

But won't users need to install an interpreter to use programs I make in Eclipse?

No.
Eclipse isn't just for Java, if I recall correctly.

besides that, java is a pretty common thing to have.. lots of websites use it (it can run within a browser) and phones/etc. do as well, so it requiring an interpreter isn't that big of a deal

Java also sucks due to the fact that it's slow and laggy.

But is there ANY way I can write in C++ so that Macs can use it by default? Is there a way I can compile to .app or something?

Oh, I see, so compiling with xcode will make it run natively on Macs?

I haven't personally made anything that's slow, but I'm talking about Java being notorious for low speed.
