MPG to VOB / IFO?

Hey,

I have an avi movie thats 1.21GB, and I used a program called TEMPGEnc to convert it to "DVD format" and it converted it into a 4GB mpg file. The only problem is nero wont burn mpg files to dvd ... or will it?

I attempted to make a UDF disk in nero by putting the mpg onto the disk and burn the mpg but it failed and I had to reboot my computer to unlock the drive so I could get the disk out.

So im assuming the best way to make a dvd is if you have VOB / IFO files.

Can anyone help me convert this file into vob / ifo format or supply me with a program name or something?

I tried googling it but there was just too much useless information to sift through.

I assume it gave you an MPEG2, so at this point you would have to author the DVD using some authoring software, and then you could burn it. I don't know which authoring apps are good nowadays, but I'm sure you could find a good freeware one if you look around. Personally I just use WinAVI which handles many different formats and does everything necessary in one go (and does it very fast if I may say so).
