My forgotten realms project

Some questions, Im making a Forgotten realms map because I havnt seen one yet and think it would be killer. It will include all your favorite chars. Drizzt, wulfgar, Etc.

Alas i am new to this....but that will not stop me I totally want to finish this project. I....just need some answers. I do not have TFT :(

I want to stick to the lotr type game but with some cool additions like naval battles, Pirates, hero customization, stuff that i shouldnt be doing lol.

Anyways to the questions

How do i make units spawn when a castle is made in all those lotr games out there?

I know i cannot directly customize doodads in Roc but is there another way, like to change the gates health?

Theres more ill be adding ill post them in this thread. I really whant this map to work and be unique like a combination or war and rpg I may be new but trust me...I have the determination to get it done

Im also wondering how to get that realy high view, like birds eye view.

Im not sure what you can and what you cant to do withotu having tft, so i will try to say everythign i know.

To make creeps spawn. Make a trigger like this:
Event- every x seconds of game
Coditions-((Playable map area) Contains (Castle)) equal to true
actions- Create Creep at center of Creep spawn.

Then make triggers that upon entering regions they would atack-move to next region until teh castle.
 
and as for the birds eye view, something like this i think:

Code: 
Lock Camera
    Events
        Map initialization
    Conditions
    Actions
        Camera - Lock camera target for <player> to <unit>, offset by (0.00, 0.00) using Default rotation
 
thanks ill try them out today I was messin around and think i figured a way out to change the gate health it goes like this

Events-Map Intialization
Coditions
Actions-Destructable-Set life of iron gate(Horizontal)0200<gen> to 5000

I think it works Ive yet to test it.

And another thing that has stumped me is how to get ships to float in water without sinking? I tried everything i could think of.
 
Make their movement type "float," I think. Something like that, in any rate.
 
ok i bought TfT WOOT!! lol anyways my map is almost done and was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me test and tell me what they think.

I proboly will need some input on balance concerning heros,spawns etc.

Anyone?

ummm dammit well i used vexorians optimer that brought it down from 537 to like 474 kb



but it still says its to big? I thought the limit was 500kb?
 
You won't be able to attach a map that big to your post. Host it on another site (like rapidshare.de, which has already been mentioned).

    It's actually remarkably easy to make mayonnaise though. Fun fact, it USED to kind of be a French mother sauce. I believe that Careme considered it one, it may have been aioli but that has also built a different meaning than it used to. An aioli is just mayonnaise I mixed with other shit typically, I didn't start it don't come at me

    It's very hard to do it on a large scale though

    Depending on how you pour the oil the consistency can vary wildly, but that's true for most emulsions. I can only make about two quarts at a time with my robo coup, and if I have to make several in series because I forgot to order it becomes really obvious even when I do it. We have to wait and mix them all together to make sure we have the same thing.

It is WAY easier to get right by hand because you control it and can feel it, but it takes soooooo much longer. And on the scale a modern kitchen requires... I serve 400-500 guests on average per day right now, if I had 100 then we could do things way better

We have about 100 days of summer, and if that summer doesn't make us what it will, then I can't operate the other most of the year with my staff. The owner is talking about closing two days a week to cut down on labor, I told him he should cut down on vacations and it did not go great. I do think I won though, I have to keep my fucking core staff and they have to be gainfully employed

She can do it no problem, I've worked with her there.

We're going to have a good staff, they will get along, they will be able to manage the workload and the complications, they know how to really cook this year, like every person on line knows their steak temps. Some of them use thermometers a lot and they don't always use them right, but they do know how to do it. Failure, especially in this field, is the only way to get better. They'll get it

    They won't get feel down while they do the thermometer, but we didn't have an instant read probe when I was learning. Like they did but god knows how off it is, you HAD to do it by feel. Even if the chef was fine with me bringing my own, it takes too long. Poke and know
