<IMG SRC="http://www.world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/tutorials.jpg" ALIGN=RIGHT>A new tutorial has been added by request.

This tutorial covers unwrapping UVW textures on Warcraft III models. This is a more advanced tutorial, and the reader should know some basics about modelling before walking through this tutorial.

I...admire...you!

:D

I didn't know you could select faces for skinning. That makes things SO MUCH EASIER.

And ever since you cleared up that replaceable ID problem, I should have no problem skinning now! :)

So for the un-initiated (like me), what's the difference between what you did in that tutorial and just overwriting the skin by importing a new blp file into your map?

The main difference is that when you import your skin, the model or MDX file already has coordinates to map to on the skin.

If you have altered the model, created a custom one, there will be verticies or points that are not mapped correctly. In which case, you would have to map them.. This is how.

This is probably because of me, I was trying to figure out how to do this, bugged him about it and he wrote the tut. I made a Custom spear model, but had no idea how to Unwrap it in Gmax, Oinkertools sucks much ass imho.

Now I made a skin, and mapped my spear to my skin. Now that its mapped I can go back and edit my skin if I like and I know where things are going to show up.

This tutorial is probably one of the most sought after by many. You should see some new models come of this.

Very well done! Ty Much Ryoko.

Well, I wanted to put up an entire section on modelling, including a modelling FAQ.

But for this to happen, I am waiting for MoMM's permission to print their modelling tutorial of all tutorials.

If not, then I don't have time to recreate something so grand, and it won't happen.

(I am glad to see the UVW tutorial helped more than I thought -- cool! )
