Orb effects on Artilery units

I've found that if you add arrow/orb effects to an artillery unit like the mortar team, the effect does not happen. Any way to get it to work?

splash/impale is one of those effects.. burning oil/disease cloud is the only exception (it works with splash)

what effects are you trying to get to work together?

Arrows, Crits, Bash with some artillery unit.

 

[Inflicted]

There is also Freezing Breath for frost attack on aoe.

Be careful with aoe/splash attacks with Orbs, as I've known them to create fatal errors in the past.

What do you mean by that?

-Crits?
You need to trigger that. Cannot be done apon attack defaultly.

-Bash?
You can trigger through storm bolt dummy casting or cluster rockets dummy casting.

Generally avoid anything to do with orbs and splash.

Arrow spells. You know, Searing arrow, Black arrow, Frost arrow...
