Question on Unit Collision Size

Hi everyone,

Recently I created a custom Unit from scratch. Now I'm having problems setting its collision size. It used to be so simple in WC3 Editor, so I'm wondering if I can simply change a value for the collision size in SCII too.

Any help would be appreciated.

I guess I should write something of value here...

I believe you can find all collision settings under the Mover - part (you may have an other display to not see this) in the Data Editor while selecting your unit.

You can edit collision size, and some other things like priority on which unit will get scoffed aside if 2 units stands on each other.

There are two collision fields located on the unit. The first property is Movement - Inner Radius which affects the collision radius with buildings. The second property is Movement - Radius which affects the collision radius with other units.

Thanks, I found the Radius Field. Couldn't believe why I didn't find that the first time...

Anyway, a follow up question. Does anyone know what the Footprint things do? It sounds like something to do with collision size, or is it just some effect like the Demonic Footprints for the Demon Hunter in Wc3 (if you know what I'm talking about).

Footprint is used for building collision. There are two footprint fields. One for placement, and one for after they've been placed. The placement one is usually square, while the other can sometimes be rounded on the edges. Click ctrl+alt+h in the editor to view the pathing mesh in your map after you've places a few buildings.

Does the footprint work for destructibles?

Also, if I specify a footprint for a building, do I still need to modify its Movement - Radius.

Footprints works for destructibles yes.

From all my tests Footprints will override Radius, so it's not necessary to set.

As a site note: All blizzard created buildings have an appropriate Radius and a Separation Radius, so who knows; maybe it does have an obscure use even when using Footprints.
