Randomized HP values?

I was thinking, is there any way to randommize HP values between a certain number? Not every unit is the exact same person...


For example, is there any way for me to change a footmans HP spontaneously at time of "birth"

Say, a footman has a base HP of 420.
I want to randomize it between 400-440.

A tauren's base HP is 1300.
I want to randomize it between 1250-1350.

If so, what do you do?

- No you cant, you can decrease it, but no increase past maximum sorry

But you could design your units hp in variables.. but nvm

interesting... i havent known that before...

anyway, this makes me again think about stupid blizzard people that dont allow triggering permanent hp-bonus (the most normal thing in the world)... >_>

ALSO listen, you can RANDOMIZE the unit's STRENGTH value ^_^

Since you only want to increase it by a random number between 0 and 100, then you can do this.

See each strength point gives you 25 health right?

calculate your unit's base health to 1225 in the object editor.

Then you go and make a random number trigger from 1 to 5.

Then you store that number in a variable.

Then you add that variable to the unit's strength!

And the unit will gain a minimum of 25 hp for 1250, and a maximum of 125 HP for 1350!!!!!!

the only problem is that heroes that have strength as their main attribute, will get also an attack dmg bonus... ye, think it is attack dmg...

secondly, it would only work with hero units...

they require "Advanced Abilities" enabled as far as i know... what increases map size horribly (over 400 kb i think)

u can increse give tome of health with random value with trigger.

Make the footman have 399 base hp and give it an ability based off the item increase hp ability that gives +1 hp per ability level (ie level 10 gives 10 bonus hp) Make this have 41 levels.

1 trigger; "unit enters entire map" + "unit type = footman" + "set level of ability for unit (hp ability) to equal (random(41))"


Never mind that doesn't seem to work.
