Apple Pie Biscuits

Apple Pie Biscuits are a great way to kick up a can of biscuits and some spices into something really special!

Ingredients:

Biscuits

  • 1 refrigerated tube – 8 buttermilk biscuits
  • 21 ounce can apple pie filling
  • 1/2 stick – unsalted butter (4 Tbsp)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Glazed Topping
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons heavy cream
  • Small bowl
  • 10 inch round pan or skillet, but you can use a 9-inch pan also
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  • Melt the butter and brush the sides of your round pan with it
  • Set aside the remaining butter
  • In the small bowl combine the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg
  • Take each biscuit and dip the top, side and bottom in the mixture to coat them and then place them in the prepared pan
  • Set aside the rest of the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg mixture
  • Pour the apple pie filling into a bowl
  • Slice the apples into small bite size pieces and mix in the vanilla extract into the bowl
  • Spoon the apple filling all over the top of your biscuits
  • Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg mixture over the top and drizzle with the remaining butter
  • Bake for 35 minutes - it may take longer if you are using a 9-inch pan.
  • To make the glaze mix the powdered sugar and heavy cream until combined
  • Drizzle the glaze on top and serve while warm
Enjoy!
