Hey guys I have a HP dv5-1002nr laptop and I'm trying to remove the harddrive. I can easily find the harddrive, but I'm not sure where to go from there. There is this black film like cover on the harddrive that appears to have a sort of tab on it. Is that what I pull on to remove the harddrive? I feel like I might break it or something lol. Also, once I remove that harddrive do I need to somehow put the black-film thing on the new harddrive?

if you remove your hard drive assuming theres only one you will need it

after googleing it

you will need to make sure w/e you get works with

* Storage controller type Serial ATA
* Storage Controller / Serial ATA Interface Serial ATA-150

thats your hard ware for managing your One hard drive

# Hard Drive 250 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm

which is made by the same company

Get some photos so we know exactly what's going on since every laptop is different.
