I would really like some people to help me out with this map I'm making. I need multiple stories written by individuals rather myself. As simple as writing a poem for my game would be, I think it'd help me a ton if a few people sent me a few of their already written poems or stories.

You'll get credit.

Here are the requirements:

  • Must be fantasy based.
  • WC3 based will probably be approved too.
  • Plays, short stories, and poems are allowed.
  • Nothing modern or futurish.
  • I'll approve all the short stories before they are put into the game.

Thanks!

I think I'd help slightly, if you'd tell us more about what you wanted.

Won't vastly different stories clash? Do you want them to be somehow related?

I thought about that, but I was hoping someone would have some fantasy stories just hanging around in their documents folder or something. Then they could just give me the permission to republish their work.

I'm not really asking anyone to make anything new.

I think I'd help slightly, if you'd tell us more about what you wanted.

The main story is about a mage who lives in a world where magical world. I could go on and on, but I'd rather not waste my time because I'm doubtful someone would really be motivated to help me.

I'm only requesting someone to send me a generic story or poem that would fit a fantasy storyline.

Gimme some names, places, timelines, events and such and I'll see if it hits me.
Adapting an existing story would be harder than starting a new one (for me at least)

I never use dates for my stories. I probably should.

Here's some terms you can look up and be inspired about.

Hermes, Parapsychology, Kybalion, Solipsism, and Psychokinesis.

If you really want a focus point, look at Hermes. I'm going to write poems and mythology about him, but you can too. I want to make the literature in my game some what confusing like the character is looking up a history and a meaning that isn't quite there.

(Kinda blew the whole thing right here, but hopeful people won't read this topic.)

The story is about a man who lives in a land that is split between worshiping Hermes and The One. There are cults that aim to destroy those who worship Hermes (good guys who just want to keep in the traditions), while there are cities that think they're too advanced for magic. It's a complex social, political game (yet cliche, so anyone could pick it up and play). It's too difficult to explain in a few paragraphs.

So, if you want, you can write about several made up philosophies. There will be a lot of that in the game too (for those who like that stuff). I think it'd be interesting to read just different, somewhat irreverent information about the meaning of life in a primitive era (during magic and other simplistic ideals). Then I'd be nice to read an essay by a knight discussing the efficiency of swords and guns against the magical arts. It'll really give the player a personal opinion about the game, and they can change the world according to their opinion. This is my aim. To make an adjustable world that a play can manipulate into whatever they want without really noticing the great change, unless they lead a huge revolt against magic.

That definately sounds interesting.
However, I really can't get anything with the information you've said.
Normally, when I'm writing about something I have a great deal of information on the subject, or its of my own creation.

As I said, this really does sound interesting to me, but I just can't get anything out of it that I can work with to create the story.

What I need to know, is names, places, likes of the characters, dislikes of the characters, friends, family, personallity.
I need to know everything about the character, before I can write about them.
Same thing with cities, places, cultures, worlds.

I have to know everything about what I'm writing about.

I thought about it.

Here's one village.

Hermoak: An isolated community that worships the god Hermes. It is beautiful groove with trees surrounding it as a fortification. Small creatures often walk into the lovely scenery. They swim in the small drinking creek, which the inhabits use for food and water. A small field of wheat is besides this creek. The place is enchanted to provide for a village of twenty people who are very private, yet kind. The ruler of this village is an elder sage named Kyle.

Just make it up yourself, :p That's the point. I'm sure Ninva won't mind some of your own imaginations in there, ;)
I would help but... short story contest comes first! Well, my other work comes first which is why I didn't do that yet but then I'll do that so like in writing and stuff that's coming first and then... yeah.

Is this going to be in Members' Projects? :D
