When i start up battlefield 1942 demo
an error comes up saying debug assertion error
i can choose ignore abort or retry when i click 1 the game crashes
some one help

your system specs with comments


pentium 3 733 mhz (little on the low side should not be your problem tho)
256 sdram on the low side
matrox g550 (this card has known issues ans prolly your problem)
soundblaster live 1024 (no probs_
and 4 usb devices which are: keyboard and mouse, force feedback 2, webcam, adsl modem.

unplug some of the usb devices just to see if that is your problem just incase

When does the error come up? I had the debug assertain error come up on my machine, after a couple minutes of play, the other day when playing with 63 bots, and i have quite a nice pc:

XP 2200+
GF4 ti 4600
512 sdram
sb audigy gamer

I'm begining to think it could be some sort of vid memory leak. Almost every case i've read about has had the dubug assertain error happen multiple times and they have a gf2. But then the funny thing comes around when you have people with the best vid cards, like myself, having the same error. (even though not as frequently). I'll run some tests with my gf3 ti 200 on this machine, and see if i get the error more ofter or not.

we need info to trouble shoot .
the game is so fresh that we need info
