This is cool. There used to be "The Helper" clan, which was called MapMakers on the US East server. Some of our members enjoyed harassing me on the chat though, but that was a long time ago. Anyways, it's a good idea that you didn't just randomly make a clan. I'm not sure how TH.net staff would feel about because the clan has their site name and they're not the leaders of the clan, and they probably wouldn't be actively moderating the clan.

1) I play on Northrend (Europe) and the only reason I would ever log onto USEast is if, for any reason, I couldn't log onto Northrend

I prefer one one west. But if there is one on east, it would be great to be a place on bnet that other map makers go, so you could work on projects, get ideas, and if you have and even to help each other. or build a map together.

What smith said..and a random member making a clan just doesn't sound that awesome.. If it was set up by the staff of thehelper, and as much effort as thehelper town got was put into it, It might turn out OK.

I could make a second account to join if you want, though.

TheHelper is a community. DotA is a game.
A TheHelper clan would represent the community whereas making a DotA clan is forming a community, like a "fanclub" of the game. There is quite a difference.
