Trying to get the feel for photoshop again

Ok after about a month of not using photoshop and just recieving photoshop CS2 i tried getting used to everything again and well here we go. Not too great i think but still C&C are appreciated.

Too tall dude... 500x150 is the max size that i use.
No border too and the text is way too plain

I like how you did the pixel stretch. It's just missing some really cool effect with the text.

The text is a bit hard to see too.

I say the text is fine, but the font could be better.
Nice placing. Cool background.
It's way too tall. I usually go no higher that 120.
And a border would do nice.

Really nice, but try adding some kind of border.
The background colors fit perfectly with the render and text is good enough.

And guys, he never said it's a sig, so I guess I can't say it's to tall.

thx, and about the border i kinda forgot but i dont really care much about borders too much on this one. And as for the text i gotta get a feel for the blending options things to make nice effects with the text and the filters with the slidey bar things on CS2 throw me off a little so i gotta take a look at those too but other than that it wasnt really a sig or anything its just a scaled down cutout of a 1000x800 thing i made.
