video card

i have a crappy windows millenium with a video card that has 24 bit.

i was wondering, do you have to buy a new video card to upgrade to 32 bit, or can you just visit the makers website and find an upgrade there?

and how do you tell what manufacturer makes your video card :nuts:

you want to have a video card that have better pros then 32 its, windows millenium is as old as earth, without it, WC3 is the only actual game you can run (yeah maybe some others requesting low stuff).

I suggest you get GE Force 8600GT - 9600GT.

Also, if you get a lower, make sure the price isnt higher, sometime it is tricky (and also make sure you have enought poower supply to use it!)

Oh and if you are still using windows millenium... Get a new comp!

First of all, you can't really suggest graphics cards to him when you don't even know if they are compatible with his system. Based on his having a "24 bit" video card, the cards you mentioned likely wont be.

And second, why would you recommend they X600s over the X800s? The X800s are always way more powerful and the X600s are only budget cards.

With that said, nemesispoi, assuming you have a computer built by one of the major brands, what is your computers model number?
