wc3 playing problem

ok i tryed to install wc3 to my computer upstairs, which has no internet access ( its half a laptop, the bottom of a laptop with a regular monitor) anyways i tryed to run the game, and it says taht i dont have directx 8.1 or newer, but doesnt it come when you intsal??, anyways i burned directx on a cd and installed it on thr computer, and i still get the same messge... is there anyway to fix this, do i configure the programs?? please help

After you install Direct X ( the newest one) just reinstall warcraft..

try to see if that works out

Go to start > run > 'dxdiag' to check your directx version.
