When I make a gate larger, units can still walk through it!

I found that I can make a gate larger by going to Object Editor > Destructibles > Demonic Gate (vertical)... and change Maximum/Minimum scale.

However, this only seems to change its visible appearance in the game. The only part of the gate that is actually solid and blocks units is a small area that is the original size of the gate.

Any suggestions?

If the gate is preplaced i would use pathing blockers. Otherwise if it's made, it might be a bit more difficult to use the pathing blockers.

Well the idea is for the gate to block access to a bridge, and the gate must be the width of the bridge. The gate is supposed to be destroyed so that the units can get through. If I use pathing blockers, things just wouldn't work right.

As you found, the size of the gate only affects the art. The actual blocking is done by its pathing map, which has a fixed size. You should take a look at this tutorial on making custom pathing maps, which you could make to fit the resized gate.
