Windows 7 64 bit install stops

I've tried steps that most people say it fixes it. I've taken out my other stick of RAM, switched them out, reset the CMOS, removed expansion cards, and formatting. None worked.

Is it a retail copy? If not..then try that. If it is then try a downloaded version and just use your retail registration key.

It is retail, and this is even before a key is entered, this is installation itself.

Edit: I got it working... Apparently my disk was scratched and borrowing my friend's fixed it.
