StarEdit X-tra Map Help

I have StarCraft X-tra Editor and I am using it on Virtual PC (meaning I still have a Mac) and I can't play my maps to test. I save the map on my hard drive and it comes up as a paper icon which I have never seen before. I try to play the game, but when I choose Create Game under all the StarCraft files I have, there is no game! It is a really cool map, and I spent a long time doing it. I don't want to waste my efforts, please help! or What do you choose?

I am saving it as a StarEdit document

there are

.chk -> raw scenario file. openable by editors only, cant play these.
.scm -> starcraft map
.scx -> broodwar map

check to see if its .chk thats the only thing i can think of. maybe its in the wrong folder? too big?

It is definitetely not too big, it is in the right "MAPS" folder, and it is a .scx

O wait...it was in the wrong folder. However, when I try to play it, it does not come up in my Mac Version of starcraft. In the Virtual PC, if I try to play it, it shows that there are no computer characters even though there are two and they are in use and labeled "computer" shown in the map editor.
