I'm not sure if this is possible... but... Is there a way to make an ability, where a hero can burrow, but move while burrowed? So its basically like windwalk, since the hero cant be seen without dust of appearance, but instead of 'going invisible' they'd be 'burrowing' and 'surfacing' when the duration is up. They'd still be able to attack from under the ground, etc.

Any ideas?

I guess you could trigger it very complicated..ly.. so that it looks like it's moving, but actually it's just a dummy and/or special effects..

I don't know how, though. :p
If someone makes it work, please post a Tutorial on it.

What I can think of for triggering:

Make a dummy unit with exactly same stats as your unit. If its a hero, make sure you copy all the required information, like items, level, stats...etc. For the model, I would suggest you use something based on some underground effect, you can try:
"Objects\Spawnmodels\Undead\ImpaleTargetDust\ImpaleTargetDust.mdl

- Use "Special Effects" to make the Hero appears to "Burrow"
- Replace you unit with the dummy
- Give your unit Invulnerability if you don't want anyone to attack it.
- At the end of the duration, use another "Special Effect" for "Unburrow"
- Replace the dummy with your unit.

Some additional things you can do:
- You might want to add additional triggers such that burrowed units cannot take or drop items. Makes more sense as they will be underground.
- If your unit is ranged, change the projectile type, and projectile arc. It looks weird to stick a bow + arrow above ground just to shoot an arrow.
- Visual range of your burrowed unit, might want change it.

I would just added movespeed on the "burrowed" unit...
Edit; hmm no i wouldnt..just tested it and..well, test for yourself:p
Edit2; even though, it might be almost too easy to do, therefore it might also be a good suggestion? I mean...test it.

I would also just have added move speed to the burrowed unit. The only issue is that the units have no Move alternate animation, so it looks like it's moving unburrowed.

Adding a Move Alternate animation in the .mdl file would probably be the easiest way.

Just making a suggestion here, but could you change the buff of wind walk so instead of turning invisible he turns into a burrow?

Base it off the unit ability "Burrow"

No triggering needed.
Make 2 separate units with the same movespeed.
Change to whatever model you would like.

Set the field in the Burrow ability.
Base unit, set it to your casting unit
Alternate unit, set it to your second unit.

Your unit should be able to move while "burrowed"

Thanks for the input guys - I'll be fooling around with these methods and see if I can make something work - then repost the results.

why not simply base the ability on crow form and give the alternativ form the same Art - model file as the first unit. and then change the flying height to -200

Exactly! +rep for the smart one! Was about to say it.

However, you might have to go deeper if the unit is flying, for if you went through trees, you might see the head poke out of the ground, since the unit would rise up a bit like every other flying unit.
