cinematic mode for just 1-2 players and not all - some questions about it

if i recall right you can bypass cinematic for all palyers with get local player etc etc to enter cinematic mdoe for a specifice numbers of players. But if i recall right, its causes the map to be revealed for all other palyers outside cinematic mode?

Is this correct? If its correct, is there any alternative way to make a good "roll play scene" without cinematic mode?

you can use a unit not controlled by a player (neutral passive) with the same model and create a vision modifier for the player in the cinematic... thats the only way i can think of doing it.

i haven't used vision modifier in wc3 at all, how exactly does it work?

it creates an area with or without vision around a specific point, ie:
Trigger:
  • Player - Create a vision modifier centered at LocVariable with a radius of 500.00 for Player X, enabling vision
or something to that effect

can i use it to block vision from nearby units too? or do i have to reduce their sight range for all units close by the area i need "blacked down"?

PS sitting on a work comp atm so cant test it out by myself until tomorrow.

You cannot block the vision of allied units by applying visible modifiers with "black mask" or "fog of war".

hmm okay, is there anyway to lock the camera without entering cinematic mode?

every 0.03125 seconds move the camera back to the location you want it locked on :)

good ideas!, though i think the lock camera works best for my map atleast, thanks alot guys =)
