health and mana degenerating after item use

After a hero in my map used an item based off of clarity potion his mana and health constantly degenerated instead of regenerated, it was permanent even after death? What could be the bug causing this, how do I fix it?

ok turns out its not the items fault, but as the unit takes damage over time his regeneration rate slows down and goes into the negative? What could cause this?

I don't think that is possible, even with triggers. Cause you will need to caculate the hp regen rate which is impossible if i am correct.

Nice to know you think the very obviously stated possible, is impossible. Its occuring and im not sure how to stop it, to post something that is not occuring would not make sense now would it? It indeed is a strange problem im looking for possible trigger clashes but there is nothing I can see.

its a spell that depending on the Heros HP an agility bonus is added via the attribute bonus spell.
