How to change model

Let said i have a hero with alot of skills and spellbook.

When the hero pick up an item, i wan the hero to change to another model but retain all it skills information in the spellbook.

thats impossible. you cannot change the model of a unit ingame. you have to create a new unit type in the object editor which is basically the same as the previous, like an exact copy but with a different model. then you have to switch them using chaos would be the best method.

Or, You might be able to give the unit a morph spell, disable it, then just order the unit to cast it when needed, make the units in the spellbook permanent too
