I agree with Ur-Quan, besides the skills, models, balancing, etc., many judge on good tooltips. Some don't give enough/accurate information. Others give a whole history lesson on who/what/when/where/why they made the skill.
There's a tutorial around (which i can't find) about making good tooltips.
Very, very nice tutorial. I am impressed. As usual, some thoughts from me :
The Hero's Main Attributes.
- for simplicity and fairness sakes, I always keep this at 6.0, unless I am making bosses.
- Usual I ceiling the main starting stats to 25 (or strongest starting stat always < 26), for fairness sakes at start.
The Hero's Names.
- I tried that once, it worked fairly well and for some time I am satisfied. However, if you got tired from all those related names, try taking ordinary names (for example, David), and add/remove characters from it (Dvid -> Devid -> Devit -> Devic -> Devinis). This works well too, since I know there are some people in the world that likes non-element specific names. But either way make good names.
Try placing your fingers on the "S" "E" "R" "G" keys.
- S is "stop" in Blizzard. I use Z,X,C,V (No looking required!), D and F for the occasional auxillary abilities (the two empty middle spots)
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
